About the band

Americana are a 6 piece female-fronted band playing modern country – so less of the Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash and more country pop and rock from the 90s onwards, such as Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum (“Need You Now”), Little Big Town (“Girl Crush”) and artists such as Martina McBride, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Sarah Evans, leavened with American heartland rock from the likes of Tom Petty.

The band features the soulful country vocals of Evonne Rivers, backed by the blistering guitar of Andy Hawes (formerly of Nine Lives, Cold Sweat) and outstanding multi-instrumentalist Steve Makin (fiddle, mandolin, guitars), with a rock-solid rhythm section and tight multipart harmonies.

We are starting to build a following, with a support set for Scottish duo Ashton Lane at the Met Lounge, a well received slot at Randall Rootz, and more dates in an ever-filling calendar.
