“You Don’t Have To Go Home…”

Just back in from the Dragon in Werrington.

Wow. Massive, massive thanks to everyone who came, to the landlady, to David our sound engineer. We had an absolute blast, and by the sound of it so did everyone else. Several new songs debuted including “Mama’s Broken Heart”, “Wagon Wheel” (hey, you have to do “Wagon Wheel”), “My Church” and a blistering encore of REO Speedwagon’s “Take It On The Run” (our excuse is Sara Evans has covered it and we don’t care!).

We’re back at the Dragon, if calendars align, at least twice more this year, and have a couple more bookings lined up elsewhere, hopefully, on the strength of tonight.

Again, thanks to everyone, and we look forward to seeing you again at the Crown next month. Tell your friends!

Live at The Crown – 22nd Feb

We’re very pleased to announce that we have been invited to perform at The Crown, on Lincoln Road in Peterborough on Thursday 22nd February 2018 kicking off around 9:00pm. Sure, it’s a Thursday evening, but we would really appreciate any support you can give. This is our first time at the pub (hence a Thursday evening – ‘new band Thursday’), which is rapidly becoming a favourite venue for cover bands in the Peterborough area. They are one of currently only two pubs in the city taking a chance on booking a country band, so they deserve some kudos. Do pop on over if you can! It’s free entry and, if we make a good impression and bring a bit of a crowd, there’s a decent chance we’ll get asked back for one of their coveted weekend slots! We’ll be doing our usual mix of ’90s to now’ country classics with a few surprises thrown in!

Live at the Dragon – 26th Jan

Fancy an evening of country music on Friday 26th January? We’ll be onstage from about 9:00pm at the Dragon in Werrington, Peterborough, playing our usual wide range of country covers from the 1990s to now, including tracks by Miranda Lambert, LBT, Lady A, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Maren Morris, Gretchen Wilson, etc.

And entry is free!

This is one of the few Peterborough pubs to take a chance on a country covers band so it’d be great to to get a good country lovin’ crowd along to prove to them there’s an audience for this music out there!

John Johnson aka JJ

We’re saddened to note that  JJ lost his battle with cancer on 9th November 2017.

It was a real pleasure to make music for him, and to even get to exchange a few words and watch him play on stage: from those few moments he did seem a genuinely nice guy, and it’s a sad loss to the world of music.

Conquer4jj – thanks

A huge thanks to everyone who braved the weather for the Conquer4JJ concert up in Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir the other Sunday, and to the organisers. We had a blast, and we even managed to find the only break in the clouds for our set!

Here we are in full flight, probably in the middle of Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina”.

Live at Conquer4JJ – Sep 17

Another chance to catch us, in a(nother) very good cause!

We’re at Conquer4JJ on Sunday 17th September, up at the Dirty Duck just off the A1 near Grantham. It’s a charity concert to raise funds for cancer treatment for Simply Red/UB40 trombonist John Johnson.

Check out our gig list for all the details, including a link to buy tickets. It’s all in a great cause, with a whole bunch of bands, a hog roast and BBQ, for only a tenner: please come and support us and JJ’s treatment.

(Watch this space for details of when in the day we’re on.)

Live on the riverbank

We’re live tomorrow (Saturday 19th) for a short but fun set at 5pm on the riverbank by Charters in Peterborough, as part of the two day Randall Rootz festival. Admission’s free, and it promises to be a great day out, so don’t come just for us!

We’ll even have t-shirts available – say hi to either of our crew (easy to spot in their spiffy crew polo shirts) and they can sort you out.

“Nobody’s Gonna Rain On Our Parade”

…but it wasn’t for want of trying!

We had a fantastic evening at the Lancaster Club in Yaxley on Friday – despite the weather’s best efforts, folks stuck around through the rain for an hour and a bit of us.

Huge thanks to Aud and the rest of her team for organising the event, to everyone who said nice things about us, and most of all to our amazing crew, Dave and Rob, for service above and beyond the call of duty. We had a fabulous (if damp) time, and we’d love to do it again. In the meantime, you can catch us on the riverbank by Charters’ in Peterborough at the Randall Rootz Festival on the 19th August.

Check out some photos from Rob, our roadie.

Who’s coming along?
